The Embarrassment: The Music

Two Cars in .WAV

Mike Blur's incredibly detailed Lawrence, KS "scene" page includes numerous links for many, many bands. His Embarrassment page:

http://cypress.idir.net/~mikeblur/bands/embos.html

Contains the song "Two Cars" in .WAV file format, with instructions for playing it if your browser doesn't have direct support.

Mike sez:

"It's an excellent recording taken from the 12-31-86 reunion show at Cogburns in Lawrence. It's on my bands/embarassment web page. the page also has a well-known and recognized promo pic. Try the sound file out--whether you can play it or not, let me know."

Mike Blur's email address is mikeblur@idir.net.

Complete Real Audio for God Help Us and Heyday 1979-1983 Bar/None Records participates in the Interjuke web site, which has complete audio for ALL the songs on the two Embarrassment records currently in print.

Unfortunately, the direct links can't be bookmarked because the site uses dynamic linking, and will require

Here's what to do:

  1. go to http://www.interjuke.com
  2. click on Alternative
  3. scroll down to "T" (_T_he Embarrassment, believe it or not)
  4. click through to the song of your choice.
If you don't have Real Audio, the free player is at:

http://www.realaudio.com/products/player/index.html

You want the thing called Real Player. It's a 2-3 meg download for the binary, depending on what operating system you use; you'll have to run the installer.

The real audio clips themselves vary in size, and your throughput is going to depend on your Internet connection speed.
