The Embos have a partial presence on the web, mostly due to record label connections. Some of this info. is duplicated below in the "Record Labels" section.

There used to be a brief Embos' biography on this site, but it's apparently "lost" in the poor organization of this site and not linked anywhere I can find.

Homestead records seems to have two sites -- first, an otherwise information-free list of records formerly distributed by Dutch East India:

which is hard to navigate, but Homestead not only has a couple of the odd Big Dipper titles (none in print, again, apparently) but a bunch of other good bands, fer sure.

Fresh Sounds doesn't seem to have a web site, but they do have an email address:

As far as I know, they have no Embarrassment tunes in their current catalog.

Sub/POP, the first publisher (other than the band themselves) of the Embos, is of course probably the best known of any of these labels and has a fearsome line-up of artists at:

The original tapes featuring the Embos aren't listed and are unavailable as far as I know, although of course these recordings are now available on Heyday.

Bomp! Records arguably gave the Embos their first wide release, and still put things out, small as ever and still obscure. They have a web site on the indie-web at

There's no indication the Battle of the Garage Bands compilations are still available, though.
